I would like to try to provide tips and construction details to other
modelers when they attempt to build a shuttle launch complex. This is by no
means what should be done. It is my interpretation of the actual complex. I
have found that during my construction I made a lot of mistakes, some of them I
fixed some I just let go. I hope what I have included here will help others to
avoid the same mistakes.
Last but not least, this is only a model, It doesn't have to be perfect. You
have to enjoy what you are doing. Some things you just cannot do in plastic
which limits the amout of detail you can include. When I made mine some details
I wanted to include forced me to oversize them a little just to make them
support the weight of the structure and not bend after two weeks. There are a
lot of modelers out there that would take a ruler and a calculator to look at a
model and find every fault with it. It's not that they are wrong, thats their
style, it's not mine. I like it better when the model looks good (to me).
Good luck to anyone out there trying to build a complex. I think once this one
is complete I'm going to tackle another just to get a lot more accurate detail.
H'mmmmm I must be crazy......Naaaa i'm a modeler.
So check out the individual pages below on construction. Send me any
suggestions you have.
I have tried to include a lot of images to help you
during construction. A lot of the pictures I am using I collected scouring the
web and never intending to include them in a site so i didn't keep track of
where i got them from. So if I am using a picture that you took and am not
giving you credit for it, or if you want me to take it off my site let me know.
I don't want to piss anyone off.
